Thank you for your interest in our school, we look forward to welcoming your family to our community. This page will describe how our application process works. The application is also below. Please contact us with any further questions, we are always happy to answer them.
The Decision Process
During the first enrollment cycle, applications will be considered on a first come, first serve basis. In each year thereafter, enrollment for new families will begin with our Open House traditionally held in November. The applications received from currently enrolled and alumni families determine the spaces available.
Children need to be 3.5 years old to attend. The minimum enrollment is three full days and priority will be given to those families enrolling for five full days then families enrolling for four days then families enrolling for three days. For four and three day families, we will do our best to meet the days you request but cannot guarantee it. Days offered are dependent on availability.
Changes in Enrollment
Families wishing to withdraw at any time in their child’s enrollment must request to do so in writing to the Executive Director. The school requires that these requests be made 60 days in advance of any change desired. The escrow deposit will cover your last two months of tuition. Please understand that the school maintains a balance of schedules in each class in order to keep tuition affordable and classes full.
The Wait List
The school will keep a current wait list. Sometimes a space becomes available due to family circumstances (a job change or relocation) or a decision to enroll a child in kindergarten or another school. When this happens we will notify the next person on the list. Families are given a few days time to make their decision.
The applications on the wait list are not automatically rolled over for the next school year. Families on the waitlist will be notified of our next Open House by email and it will be posted on www.sharonnatureschool.org. A new application must be submitted for each school year and for the Summer Program.
We hope that this clarifies the application process. If we can assist you in any other way, please let us know. We are happy to answer any questions.
